The Jasper Community Team, formed in 1997 was developed by community agencies and individuals to demonstrate that by pooling resources, building on the synergy of the partnerships, disregarding traditional agency boundaries and working together, Jasper, despite its small size, could have meaningful, locally provided and designed services for children, families and individuals. The Community Team meets as a whole to discuss community health and social issues, team structure and funding issues, and in smaller specific focus groups (Collaborative Action Teams) to discuss emerging issues and to problem solve together. The Team acquired Society Status in August 2004 and charitable status in 2006.
