Adam Schiff defiant when asked about Trump’s revenge

Senator elected Adam Schiff (D-CA) impeached the President-elect Donald Trump of speaking like a “dictator” during a Sunday interview with NBC News when asked if he thought Trump would seek retribution against him.

On Meet the pressanchor Kristen Welker talked to Trump’s Longtime House Democratic opponent on the incoming president’s campaign language, likening his political opponents to enemies within.

Welker broadcast a clip with Trump’s address Schiff especially in which he said:

The enemy within, in my opinion, is more dangerous than China, Russia and all these countries, because if you have a smart president, he can deal with them quite easily. I got along – I got along great with everyone – did I get along with them? But the thing that’s harder to deal with is these crazy people that we have inside, like Adam Schiff, Adam Schiff.

Welker asked Schiff, “Senator-elect, when you hear that language, how concerned are you that you’re going to be targeted by President-elect Trump and his second administration?” Schiff replied:

Well, that’s what the dictator is all about. This is how autocrats talk. They want to make their political opposition an enemy, to describe them in these terms. But look, I’m not worried about me. I will do my job. I won’t have his threats to intimidate me from doing this. But anytime you have somebody, especially somebody who’s going to be president of the United States, bringing in dictators, emulating their language, attacking the press, undermining our institutions.

Yes, we should be concerned because at the end of the day it means the American people will suffer. The American people, I think, voted on the economy. They want to change the economy. They were not voting for dictatorship. So I think he will misconstrue his mandate if that’s what the voters elected him for.
