Hunter was rescued after accidentally discharging a weapon

MURTAUGH, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Emergency responders rescued an injured 21-year-old hunter from the Snake River Canyon on Sunday.

Two men were hunting in the canyon near Murtaugh at 9:56 a.m., according to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office. A gun accidentally discharged and shot one of the hunters in the leg.

Air St. Luke’s landed in the canyon and transported the injured hunter to Boise, according to the office. The hunter’s injury is not life-threatening.

Magic Valley Paramedics, Rock Creek Fire and the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the rescue.
