(Politics)Liberation Society urges Japanese government to apologize… ‘Memorial ceremony is an empty shell’

Independence activists and the Liberation Association, a group of bereaved families and descendants, apologized for the controversy over the Sado mine memorial ceremony, saying the Japanese government was not taking sincere follow-up measures.

The Liberation Association said in a statement today (26) that the Japanese government should strongly condemn and apologize for failing to implement promised measures to commemorate the victims of forced mobilization at the Sado mine.

He also criticized the absence of the phrase “forced” in the exhibition space related to the Korean workers near the Sado mine, indicating that the Japanese government is still unapologetic about its past acts of sovereignty.

He pointed out that a memorial event without genuine reflection was nothing more than an empty shell and a mockery of Koreans, and that it once again hurt the victims of forced mobilization and their descendants.
