Rajkot: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four persons, one of whom lured her into a relationship with the promise of marriage in Amreli district.
On Wednesday, Vadiya police arrested three accused: Anil Desai (35), Daku alias Nayan Vekariya and Soma Alani (21).
The woman came into contact with Desai through a friend. On November 25, she went to Desai’s house to discuss marriage. He then took her to his friend Pradeep’s house and allegedly raped her. Pradeep and two others took turns raping her, said investigating officer PR Rathod.
After returning home, the woman informed her friend, which led to a complaint being lodged at the Vadiya police station.
The police conducted a medical examination of the woman and requested assistance from the Forensic Medicine Laboratory (FSL) to collect evidence.
