Driver, 35, arrested after man remains ‘critical’ in hospital with head injuries following attack on Telford Street

West Mercia Police said they have arrested a 35-year-old man who is alleged to have attacked a 50-year-old man in Haygate Road at around 3.50pm yesterday.

The injured man, who was driving a silver Citroen Picasso, is in hospital with a serious head injury.

The suspect, who was driving a blue Fiesta, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in custody as police investigation continue.

Detective Sergeant Osman Malik, from Telford’The CID Response Team said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident as they can assist us with our investigation.

“We are particularly keen to speak to a number of witnesses who stopped to help the victim, as if they haven’t already spoken to us, they may have information that can assist our enquiries.”
