HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A Ridgeway man was charged Wednesday with possession of child pornography, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Glen Oak Circle following a nearly three-month investigation by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SOVA ICAC).

According to deputies, the investigation began when law enforcement received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) on August 28.

Deputies say the tip from NCMEC contained several files of potential child sexual abuse material found in private social media chats.

According to deputies, the IP address was traced to Nicholas Sean Trumble, 36, whose cell phone contained files of young children involved in sexual activities.

Trumble was charged with one count of first offense possession of child pornography and 17 counts of subsequent offense possession of child pornography, deputies say.

Trumble is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
