TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News ) – Authorities in Ohio say a police officer has been fired for allegedly exchanging nude images with an underage girl.

According to the Ottawa County Major Crimes Unit, Austin Sabo was arrested Wednesday for sharing nude images involving a young woman.

Walbridge Mayor Ed Kolanko said the officer was fired the same day Sabo was recently hired and was still on probation.

Sabo was booked into the Ottawa County Detention Center on charges of dissemination of material harmful to minors and unlawful use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

Authorities from multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant Wednesday at an Oak Harbor-area home as part of an ongoing investigation into child sex abuse materials.

A K-9 team found several devices that investigators took as evidence.

Sabo admitted to the allegations during an interview, authorities said.
