Mount Pleasant burglary suspect in custody after search

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) – Two men are in custody Wednesday afternoon after one of them shoplifted from a home improvement store in Mount Pleasant.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department warned of a heavy police presence near National Drive as they searched for the robbery suspect identified as Correy McCullough.

McCullough was with another man, identified as Derrick Niles, who is wanted in a separate incident by the North Charleston Police Department, according to Sgt. Ashley Croy with the department.

McCullough is charged with shoplifting and obtaining property by false pretenses. Niles was wanted on three counts of indecent exposure and trespassing after notification.

Several resources were used in the search for them, including areas near the golf course.

Police told News 2 the suspect accused of stealing from Lowes was arrested around 2:06 p.m.
